HouseSimple.com studied property prices on streets in 13 UK towns and cities that sit next door to a cemetery, comparing their prices to the postcode average.
It showed prices were on average 23 per cent lower than the area average.
Houses overlooking St Patrick's Cemetary in Leytonsone were on average £258,000 -- nearly exactly half of the £511,000 average in the E11 postcode.

Meanwhile, property prices next to Linthorpe Cemetery in Middlesbrough are 44% below the postcode average.
Alex Gosling, CEO HouseSimple.com, said homes next to cemetaries could be lucrative for potential buyers looking to pick up a bargain.
He said: "For many of us, living next to a cemetery would cause us sleepless nights.
"But for buyers who aren't easily spooked, they could pick up a bargain.
"And if you can get past the fact there are gravestones a few yards from your front door, what you're actually overlooking is a serene and quiet space, that is unlikely to ever be developed."
